Oasis Cover Version of Help!

Love them or loath them for eighteen years they were damn hard to ignore. I remember
my brother calling me up on the phone to say some band called Oasis have
a huge banner up in Liverpool, saying  ''The Beatles are back, they are called Oasis''.

Oasis compared to all the other bands who tried to copy The Beatles had two advantages,
the blending of the 1966 Beatles sound with the harsh attitude of the Sex Pistols and
Noel bloody Gallagher.

When asked on Radio 2 recently, if he could have one record played he chose
Ticket to Ride from the Mono Box Remaster. He is a Beatles Head. He collects the
Beatles Bootlegs, sings their songs, buys the Box Sets, borrows every trick
the Beatles used in their armoury and in the distant past
showed off the Oasis's Beatles/Sex Pistols uniqueness by covering
the near impossible I am the Walrus and pulling it off.

Oasis - I am the Walrus Live

There are several Oasis covers that are worth a listen but my favourite, is the
acoustic version of Help!. Lennon wrote it as a slow piece but when
George Martin requested a single in Early 1965, John's unfinished song was
speeded to the thrashing Rock N Roll we all know and love.

Gallagher offers this as what Lennon possibly intended Help! to be.

Personally I love it, Please enjoy.
